Who can obtain a duplicate car title?

In Maryland only the registered owner(s) may obtain a duplicate title. The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) no longer issue titles over the counter. If you apply online or in-person at the MVA, it will take 7 to 10 business days to receive a duplicate title in the mail. At Motor Car Tag & Title, we will have your duplicate title in 1 to 2 business days.

Duplicate titles, also referred to as substitute titles, corrected titles and replacement titles are easy to obtain at Motor Car Tag and Title. We will need to make copies of the owner(s) driver’s license(s). The required forms are in our office and you will simply sign the forms and we do all the paperwork. In addition to your driver’s license we only need the tag, title or VIN number of the vehicle.

If you are selling your vehicle and need to a duplicate title ASAP come to Motor Car Tag and Title.
